Dear Friends...

I have been honored to serve as one of your county commissioners and I am grateful for the privilege of representing El Paso.  Because public service has been so inspiring, and the potential at the county so great, I have decided to run for County Judge.  I am asking for your support and your vote.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your support, good wishes, contributions of time and money, and most of all - for caring about our community enough to get informed and involved!

Sincerely,

Veronica Escobar

El Paso Times Endorsement

County judge

Current County Commissioner Veronica Escobar should be El Paso's next county judge.
With four years of experience as commissioner under her belt, Escobar knows the mechanics of the court, how the county operates, and what's needed to make the county run more smoothly.

We especially like her emphasis on and expertise in the consolidation of services. With the county government in a fiscal bind, consolidation of services has the potential of saving significant money for taxpayers.

We think her professional and studied approach to county business will have a calming effect on a court that has often been fractious and at times nearly dysfunctional.
One of her biggest challenges will be to keep the county's finances in good order. She will have to balance a tax-battered electorate with true county needs, and we think she's up to the task.

We recommend that you vote for Veronica Escobar for county judge.
